![]() Cannabis Sativa(Hemp) is an annual herb which is ussually dioecious, meaning male and female flowers grow on separate plants. Because the stock is the harvested product, plants are spaced close together and branching is discouraged, enabling plants to produce a greater amount of stock by growing tall with very little flowers. Seeds must be harvested from the female plants, so they are harvested five to six weeks after male plants. Hemp is an ideal source to be used for food, clothing, fuel, medicine, soil renewal , building material, and paper. Although hemp is the cousin to marijuana it produces only an insignificant amount of delta-l-tetrahydrocannabinol(THC), the main phsychoactive component in marijuana. United Nations standards keep the THC level at 0.3% or lower, and many strains are as low as 0.02%, so low it can only be detected through high sensitivity testing. |
